National Apple Day

Gentlemen,

Yesterday was National Apple Day and this was celebrated by the Beds County Council at a Water Mill (working) they own in Bromham just outside Bedford. This is not a new idea because I have been showing engines there for at least the last fifteen years. For the engines we don't have much room but I still manage to get eight of my friends and their bits and pieces squeezed in so we end up with a reasonable display. I had a new toy to play with in the form of a Pegson Rammer, care of Dan Howden Loan Dept, it was still with me from our trip to Internal Fire. When I finally worked out how to make it work correctly it kept the public and my friends amused as I tried desperately to hang onto it and appear that I new what I was doing. The best thing about apple day is the fact that the visiting public that come to these do's don't go to Rally's at all and show an interest bordering on naivety which means they ask interesting questions about the engines etc which makes the day even more fun to do. I took some pictures and will put them up tonight.

Martin,

Congratulations on becoming a suitable co-pilot for the rammer - I'll be able to bring it out to more rallies now ;-) Plus when Gary's brother Steve gets his Warsop going there'll be a selection for you to play with...

I also boggle for a caption - though that should potentially be the next competition?

Cheers

Dan
