I'd like to find a Smiths industrial/marine electric tachometer display, to work with one of their 1960s engine mounted tachogenerators, 0 - 2000 rpm range approx. I could probably just buy an analogue voltmeter and recalibrate it, but it's unlikely to look the part. I've got a couple of new old stock mechanical engine tachos with hour meter, about 3" dia, 0-2500 rpm, with heavy duty drive cables, available for trade or beer vouchers.
I've just bought a Ruston Hornsby 4YD with the intention of marinising it. It's been a genset engine and has evidently been fitted with remote warnings or an auto-shutdown system. It's bristling with temp and pressure switches and senders, but I have nothing to connect them to. It's something I'd like to make use of, I suppose I could just link to a bank of warning lights but if anyone has a 'proper' engine alarm box gathering dust and in need of a home please let me know.
Thanks Tim
