Anyone know how to test the stator i.e. currently no spark at the sparking plug? Regards, Tom

If the flywheel is off (don't forget to keeper it - I usually use a couple of big spanners) you can break the primary circuit and wire a battery or other power source in series - measure the primary resistance first and select a voltage to give an amp or two. Flick the points and you should get a spark if all is well. Don't try with flywheel in place as you risk damaging the magnets.
