Card Modelling

Peter, I deliberately let someone else answer first so as not to look a complete tw*t. I have searched before for sample downloads of UK outline railway-related card buildings and found nothing. If somebody does have pattersn for these they do not appear to want to share them with the rest of us free of charge. You might want to check out older issues of 'Model Rail" which quite often featured cut out and paste models of buildings in multiple scales on the outside cover. Good luck hunting and if you do find something please let the rest of us know.

Well, it does cost time to design a card model, hence the dearth of freebies. And websites cost money, too. The freebies are intended to show the quality of the designs available for a fee, or else as inspiration for designing your own. Most card model patterns or kits are available from people who try to make a living at it, or who use card models as part of their business (eg, architects.)

That being said, Fiddler's Green has loads of patterns on CD, at the price they charge it works out a 10 cents or so a pattern, which IMO is very reasonable.

Thank you for the replies. I take your point regarding freebies. I'll take a look at Fiddler's Green. As you say 10 cents a pattern is pretty cheap. And a Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year to everyone here.
