You could try Branchlines or the Home of O gauge.

Ultrascale make the [engineering plastic] worm and wheel supplied in most kits. Their web site is at...

Click on products. There is a scroll-down menu with gears towards the end.

Brian,

Other than the modelling suppliers already mentioned, you might also want to look at gear suppliers like

Muffett -

HPC -

Muffets have an online catalogue where you can download .PDF files of their catalogue. HPC don't have an online catalogue, but you can get a copy of their catalogue sent to you for free (800+ pages!!!).

You will find that the smaller size ranges from these suppliers will suit 7mm scale. They cover spur gears, worm gearing, bevels, helical and cross helical, etc. and are provided in a selection of metals, and plastics. They also supply moulded plastic gear sets.

They are quite happy to supply small orders to modellers. I've dealt with both and had no problems - quick service and they respond to emails promptly.

Jim.

Branchlines were the answer thank you, Ultrascale nylon worm gear now fitted and loco running very quietly.
