OK, I know not everyone has the time or ability to scratchbuild, but a building for GBP155 - theyve got to try or at least get someone else to do it for them. What happened to bob a job week ?

Admit that my first attempt at a building - modest colliery locoshed cost GBP807 - 7 for materials and rest labour at minimum wage rates.

I find that quite interesting. I didn't know that Roco produced a UK price list, and consequently wonder where that RRP comes from?

Maybe I'm just being pedantic, but either way if the price quoted reflects the quality then I really don't know what the problem is. Is a high-quality building any easier to produce than say a 'top of the range' steam loco model?

Are these buildings hand-made or mass-produced? I'd guess their potential sales are relatively small and as a result their development costs will reflect in the price.

I don't think they do. However the RRPs are in the latest Roco new items catalogue in Euros . The admin building is 179 euro so OnTracks are using a 1:1 exchange rate to get to their RRP.

It's based on a mine at Zollern which the blurb in the catalogue says is now a museum. The most expensive bits (machine hall and hoist frame) are 199 euro each. This is for a "Finely detailed industrial architecture kit. All components made out of high quality architecture carton which are engraved with laser technique and precisely cut"

Even to someone like me, used to paying for continental models it seems rather on the expensive side for what is basically a very up to date SuperQuick kit!
