Manchester Piccadilly

Hello

I am trying to create the current layout at Manchester Piccadilly. Does anyone know where I can get the track layout from as I want to make it as close to realistic as possible.

At the moment I am getting started with the station. To say that it is entertaining is a massive understatement.

Thank you

Lyndon

Other than Network Rail (fat chance I expect [1]) I suspect one of the large scale Ordinance survey maps (as used by City planners etc.) might well show the track layout.

[1] in good old BR days one could request such maps from the chief civil engineers dept's....

I don't fancy my chances with Network Rail. I'm going try but I don't hold a great deal of hope. Now they all hind behind Data Protection and Public Security.

It's just madness. All I want is a little information nothing overly important.

You need a Quail map. Unfortunately they're all being reprinted at the moment. Fortunately, when they are, they will be current to January

2005. Just right for you!

You may find an old edition secondhand via the online specialist bookshops. That's how I got my Western Region one.

Expensive too I should think :)

Lyndon,

Not heard of the Freedom of information act 2000 which came in on Jan 1st

2005? Providing within reason it is not a classified document, i.e. has personal details in, companies are now obliged to provide the information requested, although there may be a fee!

May be worth reading

No they aren't. /Public bodies/ are. And we all know Network Rail is a private company (BTW, anyone know what the Emperor is wearing today?).

I can imagine the response: "This information is commercially sensitive. We cannot divulge it because one of our rivals might use it to build an identical station to compete with us."
