Haven't heard of these people before:-

Is it a rebrand of an earlier name?

AFAIK this range has been around for a year or two. They are either Austin K2 or Ford Thames ET6 truck chassis with a variety of bodies and commercial liveries. The quality is quite good for the price (£6-7). They are made in China (where else?) for Pocketbond Limited, P.O. Box 80, Welwyn, Herts AL6 0ND - snipped-for-privacy@pocketbond.co.uk

Base Toys also have various combinations of 1:76 truck bodies and chassis, painted but undecorated so you can add your own decals (£5). And Oxford Diecast has a new range of cars and vans in 1:76, similar to those in the Lledo Trackside range, both selling for £3-4 from Hattons.

After a long wait, we now seem to be getting a torrent of 1:76 cars, vans and trucks suitable for late steam-era layouts.

They've been around for a few years- quite nice models, and an improvement on 'civilianised' Matadors and Austin K6s. Brian

And yet no FX3 taxi which was by far the most common road vehicle outside any station during that period :o(

Since Corgi have dismissed the idea on the grounds of tooling cost, you would think Bachmann or Hornby would produce one instead.

I have the 1950s Austin taxi by both Dublo Dinky and Matchbox. The Matchbox is the better model. Same goes for the Ford Prefect.

It would be nice to have some 1:76 fire engines to go with the police and ambulance vehicles based on cars and vans. They seem to be quite popular in both European and American HO.
