As no one can stop you, go ahead! But its polite to keep it down to the initial notice as apposed to bombarding.

On or about the 11th of each month there is an etiquette file posted that covers this. Without looking it up, I think if you prefix the subject line with [FA] or [FS], and don't do it too often, you'll be OK. Also, make sure it *is* only UK model railway items!

There is no specific prohibition in the charter. That fact you had the courtesy to ask first means you can do it IMHO. Just link to one item and instruct people to use the "sellers other items" link if you are selling a lot.

Isn't it, however, against Ebay rules to promote auctions on newsgroups?

Is it? (search on eBay......)

No, it isn't:-

"eBay users may not post on Usenet groups (Internet newsgroups) to advertise eBay or an eBay listing that is inappropriate or violates the Usenet board policy."

If people are into buying / selling on eBay they can search eBay surely? What next, random URL's being posted to newsgroups just in case someone can't use Google?!
