Finishing Stainless

what's a good type of primer to use on stainless, something that will grip well?

I'd say - get ye to the local auto parts store and look at auto paint. In that section, they have metal prep - that bites into it (their words) so when painted it has pores or such to hold on to.

After the treatment - then pick a primer. Then a paint ? - wet sand paint wet sand and then paint. (or maybe not the last part.) Martin

i used 400 emery to rough the surface, then i wiped down well with laquer thinner.

i used a Rustoleum "industrial" spray primer for bare metals, it had the ingredients listed on the cap and they should adhere well and give my paint a nice surface to latch onto....

thanks for the info

dupont veri prime expensive but worth it!
