Inert gas tank, how to recognize gas and CO2 question

Got a smallish tank with inert MIG gas. It still has gas in it. The label is gone, but for the part that says "non-flammable gas". I am pretty sure that it is MIG gas because the guy from whom I bought this tank, had only a MIG welder.

My first question is, I suspect that it is 75/25% mix, but how can I be sure of this.

My second question is, can I fill this tank with CO2 or do I need a special CO2 tank for CO2.

Thanks

Try MIG welding with it. If it is Argon, you will get a lot of Soot and no penetration.

If it is Helium you will get a very dark orange arc.

No. CO2 tanks store liquid CO2 and use a siphon tube.

No siphon tube on a welding tank, but the outlet will be differant.

CGA 580 inert gas

CGA 320 CO2

I thought that siphon tubes in CO2 cylinders are only used for Fire Extinguishers or other applications where you want to extract liquid CO2 from the tank?
