saw a 3ph welder for sale

Greenshield's here in north Everett, WA has for sale a three phase powered welder. Really old motor driven unit. They wanted 150 bucks, and it included a decent sized cart. Don't think anyone will buy it, but I figured it was worth throwing out (pun unintended.) I'm sure if someone wanted it they'd entertain all offers. They're cleaning house, preparing for selling the business and I picked up two rusty 1/2" plates, about 30" by 40" or so to use one as a table top and the other for welding practice and such. Twenty bucks. Score! I won't complain, and I'll give the angle grinder with wire wheel to my boys to do the dirty work of cleaning one up. MF to get out of the truck, though. They have lots of hooks, wire rope, and pallets of industrial stuff that's never moved for years. Six inch beam trolley for $150, too. I'll keep driving by to keep an eye out on what comes out to the street next. They had some rusty steel but heavy duty shelving for free, but I didn't want all the work to make them safe. They do hydraulics for heavy equipment and lots of rigging equipment, so that's what they're getting rid of. I thought about getting some of their wire rope for steps to get into my truck, but they won't sell just pieces, only the whole pallet.

Dammit! I am always looking for lots just like you described. Being here in the heartland of un-employment and NAFTA you would think Chicago would be a literal hot-springs of "going out of 100 years of business sales" or retooling. I can't ever find this stuff! Hell, I can't even find an industrial building to move into to suit my needs. Where do you guys find the information on the deals you hit pay-dirt on? I look for auction notices in the news papers, etc. You got any secrets to share? Also Harbor freight just opened a store in Burbank IL. so I now have a source of tools I can throw through walls when I need to have a cheap temper-tantrum.

Fill me in fellas! Rob
