donations to AMA in memory of deceased

One of our members recently passed away. We wanted to do something in his memory but when we contacted the AMA they won't acknowledge reciept of any donations to the family in whose name it was donated. Guess they don't want a $100.00 donation. Go figure. I have sent a note to my district VP and requested his thoughts on the matter. I will share them soon I hope. This just plain stinks and should be changed. Eddie Fulmer- Pres. West Alabama Aero Modelers (WAAM) Tuscaloosa, Alabama

I thought this sounded funny as I seem to remember a number of memorial donations to the AMA so I asked Joyce Hager about the practice.

Here is her response.
