Is there a chart horsepower/ model size / performance?

With the increase in power of 4 stroke motors a lot of the "suitable engine" information is meaningless.

What would be good is a chart of performance / horsepower / type of plane / weight / maybe wing area/loading.

For types of plane perhaps the following.

Trainer High wing (cub types) Low wing sports

3D Scale warbirds

I am sure there should be more. Performance could be docile, sports, vertical, hover

Does anyone know if such a chart exists, if not can we with our collective ownership of many planes put one together?

The problem is that charts generated by US fliers, where nitro is cheap, would be erroneous in countries where nitromethane is expensive or prohibited.

Countries at sea level elevations developing said charts, could mislead modelers that live in areas of high altitude.

Countries that have very restrictive noise limitations could be led astray by charts generated in countries with little to no noise limitations.

Get my drift?

So what would make your proposed chart any more meaningful? Any change in engine performance will make the information on the chart just as meaningless.

People always ask why such a thing doesn't exist. All technical reasons aside, nobody wants to put the kind of effort it will take into compiling this information. To be truly accurate, you can't trust anecdotal data contributed by modelers, so a single person would have to buy all possible engines and fuels, do the testing, and arrange the data in some useful format. Few people could afford to spend the kind of money this would take, and even fewer have the time to perform the testing.
