OS Surpass .48

What can anyone tell me about this engine? Horsepower, rpm range, prop size range, reliability, etc. It appears to be discontinued and parts seem to be a problem to get. I have a shot at two of them that are barely broken in and need to learn more about the engine first.

I have one of these engines and it and 2 others I know of, suffered from a broken crankpin at one stage in their lives. The original engines had a hollow crankpin, the replacements (and probably later models) have a solid pin.

I use it in a Zen30 with an 11" * 7" APC prop

Have one I picked up at a swap meet and use on a Telemaster 40. Great combo! I have a Saito and Enya 4-stroke as well, and that old .48 is the most reliable of the three. It jerks the Telemaster off the ground in about

15 feet.
