poly dihedral

I have a poly dihedral glider. The manual says I should have the wing tips approx 110mm off the ground. There are fixed sized wedges under the wingtip joining braces. Im about to glue the wings together, and one tip is 112mm off the ground and the other is 114mm off the ground. Does this really matter I guess not since the wings will flex a bit under load. Should I attempt to change the height of the wedges a little to get exactly

110mm at the wing tips on both sides. If I do this then the first dihedral will be a little bit out about 2mm on each side

Yes, it will matter. The glider will not turn evenly. You should attempt to get them the same. If you can't, it's not that big a deal.

Methinks the operative term there is "approx". Fiddle 'em up the same height and be done with it

I would think you're supposed to insert the wedges as needed to get the approximate height, and it's an uncommon kit that is accurate within one millimeter. Cheers, Fred McClellan the dash plumber at mindspring dot com

Just as important, is the horizonal stab square with the wing? Before you change the wing check the stab. If the stab indicates you need to shim the wing, then do it.

Measure with a micrometer, mark with a grease pencil, cut with an axe.

and - 1 mm ( 0.039 inch, or a little over 1/32 inch) is not a big deal-especially over the wing span, which is probably (with 4+ inches of Poly) between 1.5 and 2 Meters. It is well within tolerance for wood...
