Radio compatibility: Dual Conv TX with Single Conv Rx

I've been putting together an indoor slow flyer with a GWS negative shift

6-channel micro receiver. I'd been planning on simply using my Futaba 7CAP radio with the plane as I bought a Futaba compatible receiver and servos for the electric.

Can a dual conversion transmitter like the 7CAP fly a single conversion receiver like the GWS O.K., or am I not going to be happy with the results?

Transmitters are not single or dual conversion, receivers are. You

Transmitter will work fine with either a single or dual conversio receiver.

Transmitters are not usually defined by their "conversion" stages. Where did you encounter this?

Whether a receiver is single or dual conversion has relevance only to it's image rejection.

Transmitters and receivers need only be the same for frequency, modulation, and pulse format.

Single or Dual conversion don't apply to transmitters, it's the method receivers use to "narrow in" on the target frequency. There are some truly excellent and extremely dreadful single conversions out there. Some outperform dual conversion rxs. The short answer is it'll work fine in an general, but is glitchy in crowded RF enironments. I couldn't use one at all in an indoor venue... PCPhill
