Irritating 2000i Issue

May 25, 2005 7 Replies

At my new job they're still using ADT 2000i. The default view when opening drawings is icons, not list or details. Every time I go to open a drawing I have to reset the view... it doesn't even stay in the same format when you change directories! Anyone have a fix for this irritating situation? I looked in the options but didn't see any obvious buttons to click.

Thanks,

Marc

I think that is a Windows Explorer function (View, Details).

My guess is that you are running 2000i on WindowsXP. Unfortunately the only way to solve your issue is to upgrade your AutoCAD product because 2000i is not supported by AutoDesk for WindowsXP.

My Model T isn't supported by Ford anymore either but it runs as well as ever. So do 2000i and R-14, both on XP. Do you think they send out little secret signals that keeps the software running? When they stop sending those signals, it quits?

So what it your point?

Relz was simply pointing out that 2000i was not supported on XP, therefore that is why he is having the problem. I didn't read anything about "it won't work, period..."

Kind of hard to read the future. I'm sure somebody will get AutoCAD 2004/5/6 to run on the next version of windows in a few years, but that don't mean all features will work as designed.

I guess I have to spell it out for you. XP is not the problem.

Maybe you should have spelled it out in your first message, instead of rebuking "Relz"'s statement that "2000i is not supported by AutoDesk for WindowsXP"

Yes it is. The pre-2002 file dialogs don't work correctly in XP. :)
