Hi all,
I'm in the process of acquiring a dozen or so ER16 tool holders for a new CAT40 machining center. I've read the recent threads on the different collets etc. and found that very helpful but I've already had great success with ER16 tooling in R-8 holders in my CNC'd knee mill - so I'm staying with ER16 for small dia's and ER32 for larger end mills.
One of the brands I'm considering is Techleader
I understand the stuff is made in Germany - not where cheap garbage usually comes from... Pricing for a 4" long CAT40 ER16 toolholder is CDN $165 - about US $138 - which is amazing, compared to some of the other quotes I'm getting for tooling. (Briney rep is quoting USD $240 ea...) The Techleader pricing is even less than Bison and I always thought they were an excellent bang for the buck brand - but they quote .0002 on their holders and .0004 TIR on their collets.
I searched this NG for any mention of this brand and Google gave me zero hits. Anyone heard of this brand and using it?
Thanks.
Cheers, Peter
p.s. I know this could be interpreted as an advt for Techleader - but I assure you my interest is purely about good or bad experiences with the tooling.
