haven't read it cover-to-cover. It's not the best book to learn adaptive control, but the price is right.

There are tons of neat books available for adaptive control. Maybe the most basic and popular book would be: Adaptive Control - Karl Astrom and Bjorn Wittenmark
Another old classic, (maybe out of print right now) is Stable Adaptive Systems - Narendra and Annaswamy.
Recent research (backstepping design etc.,) is covered in: Nonlinear and Adaptive COntrol Design - Kristic, Kanakepolou and K(forget the name)
