Does anyone have any information about running network wiring inside of manholes?

Make it water proof and rodent proof.

The little sods will get in anywhere and eat anything unless it is in steel conduit.

We put a supposedly "rodent proof" fibre optic cable down in a central heating steam pipe channel between buildings and it lasted less than a year. They ate through the steel mesh built in to the cable..

Heaven knows why..it wasn't blocking their path through the channel.

Usual rule of copper cables between buildings. Fibre optics is easier.
