I cannot open sentry safe S3310

Hello, I am in need of some advice. I own a Sentry Fireproof/waterproof safe S3310. It has a 3 number combination which is unchangable. I don't use the key either.

I am unable to get into it at this time. (This has happened before, but I was always able to get it open.) I've struggling with this thing for days. Is there anything that anyone out there can suggest that I do?

Any help would greatly appreciated. Thanks.

here ya go..

  1. Will people on this newsgroup give me information about picking locks, etc.? Yes and No. These is a serious debate, based on serious principles. Most experienced people here are quite willing to discuss the basics of lock construction and operation. Few (if any) are willing to give specific answers regarding opening a particular lock or safe - without knowing the asker or having other evidence that the inquiry is legitimate.

go to the Sentry site and carefully read the directions for your safe.. if this is electronic lock, then you got a possible problem.. a mechanical lock is entirely different..

are you SURE the key is UNLOCKED??

you bought it new? then...'maybe', its still under warranty? depends on the age..

First thing is to find the owners manual. It's very common that people use the wrong dialing sequence. One too many or one too few turns. Sentry might (havn't looked) have the owners manual online.

Second thing to do is to find someone else who has the combiantion (or can be trusted) and have the other person try to open it.

Third is to call a locksmith for professional assistance.

you can also send the serial to sentry and they'll give you the combination. failing that, you may try dropping it from a short height and twisting the handle on or right after impact. I haven't seen the inside of this model, but if it works like alot of the others, that'll probably work.
