More info needed. how are the doors set up? If you have a passive/active set-up then the easy way is to either install a metal Tee astrigal on the passive door or you can use a flat bar mounted to the outside of the passive door.
For other set-ups other options are available.
hi Roger, Yes, the double doors are a passive/active set up.
I want to be secure, but also have aesthetic concerns. The oak doors are original to the house, 1901, and have a matching oak astragal. I don't want to lose the original appearance of the oak astragal by replacing it with a metal astragal.
I can't picture how the metal Tee astragal would be installed. Can you describe more? I'm only familiar with an astragal that is not a T, and is mounted on the front plane of the passive door.
Thanks.
