Locks on chest of drawers won't work. Help?

Get a can of lubricant containing either Silicone or Teflon.

Spray each lock and GENTLY try turning the key. The word GENTLY is bold so you don't break the key off.

Are you really sure that the key you have is the proper one?

Try a spray product like WD-40. You can always hold a towel under the lock to sop up the excess that runs out.

Well let me say this. When I bought this chest the guy brought out a box of keys and tried a few until one worked in one lock. I assumed that all the locks were the same using one key only. The key works harder than one would expect on the lock that operates. Other locks seem to be trying to open and still other locks will not budge. Why would there be multiple keys? Phyloe

Is the key currently working the one lock it worked the 1st time when it was demonstrated to you? If it's working another one then they are probably all keyed the same.

probably NOT the right key... but the lock he got open was maybe worn enough that it 'worked' the others are still 'factory dimension' -IE not worn, and the key is sufficient different they wont open with that key

Take the drawer that you can get open to your local locksmith and he should be able to give you a good key.

I had a car key that worked on some locks on the car but not others, or you had to jiggle it a lot. I took the key to a locksmith and he assumed the locks were keyed the same but worn. Made me a new key that worked fine all around by somehow compensating for the worn locks.

he probably just cut the key back to factory specs.

I have even added a few thousandths on some locks I knew were worn pretty bad. If I had the new wafers to fit I would have replaced them....
