Even though it won't agree with the locksmiths here, you can file down a #2 master pin. Commonly called butchering, I believe.

I guess I missed the beginning of the thread. But as I understand it, you need to have some amount .035?(not sure about this exact number) or so worth of pin in the chambers to actually keep them from turning and if a master pin would not be thick enough to provide that then it would be no value and possibly slip or jam between the plug and shell.
