Bahaaa!!!!! Outta my way kid! Great story,I also had one of these as a child and have admitted on rare occasion that if I ever found one in adult size and very big room in which to tear around in...well then, my kids would just have to be embarrassed of their old man. ;-)

Just enjoyed the first trip out of the garage and around the block in my friend/boss's now blown '96 camaro. Nice ride...still not big-block power...but *plenty* fast. Now I'll have to help him figure out how to get some traction, it *really* wants to turn em over bad in any of the first 3 gears when the boost comes in. .....TUB IT!!........hehe

I was on the 57 freeway yesterday in So. Cal. when this car pulls up besides me (nearly in gridlock on the freeway..about 2mph)
Its got stickers and all sorts of whatnot and inside is this chick belted into a 5 point harness. This thing has a full cage, stripped dash with all the latest geewhiz gauges and techno stuff plus this big assed tank of nitrous bolted to the cage and two big buttons in the steering wheel....
A Ford Probe..not a car Id ever have considered to be particularly sporty..shrug..(so what do I know?) Looked like a NASCAR ride with all the bells and whistles.
I copied down the big URL over the rear license plate

Glenn - that is near the norm! (maybe not the lead pouring, but ... ;-) )
I had a field trip of a 'rich' persons shop area - He has a 150 ton overhead gantry - Pulling up the turret of a Tank. Forget which one - I think Russian. One chunk of steel. He has three large - I'd say 125,000 foot each shops that are display rooms full of tanks and a Scud missile system set from WW II to today - just not our state of the art Tank.
I took hundreds of pictures - far to many to think about. He has the worlds largest private collection. (His Father or Grandfather - can't recall - was one of the three contractors to Bolder Dam.)
I think that is a bit eccentric myself! :-)

I have a bunch of peices about 2 x 7 x 0.1 inches to clean up. Am sort of planning on using H Cl available from the hardware store type as Muratic. Does anyone know what concentration it is and what dilution would be appropiate? I know all about "add acid to water as a good boy aughtter" :-) Thanks. ...lew...

I don't know how this got in here. I changed the subject. lew

Not an issue with muriatic acid. You're thinking of sulfuric.

Central CA? He had an issue importing the Scud system (seems to me there were 2), good to hear that's behind him.

You can use it full strength, but watch it as it will work fast when fresh. Leaving the metal in too long will just result in loss of good metal. 2:1 dilution will make it a less vigorous in reaction if you are uncomfortable with it. Be sure to dip you metal in a baking soda solution after descaling to neutralize residual acid. Then dry and oil immediately to prevent rust.
