Dropbox e-mail address is changing

Jun 04, 2007 5 Replies

Hi folks,

After more than a decade of operation the Dropbox e-mail address must be in the database of every spammer on the planet. In order to reduce the burden this causes and to help prevent objectionable material from temporarily ending up in the Dropbox, the e-mail address is changing.

The new address simply adds the digit 2 to the name dropbox. This change is effective immediately and the old address will become invalid tomorrow.

Please see

for updated information.

The updated web page uses encryped JAVA script to prevent spammers from harvesting the address directly. This script has been tested to work with most browers (Explorer, Safari, Firefox, and Opera). For those with other browser not supporting JAVA script and for those choosing to keep it disabled, plain text instructions should be shown in place of the mail link.

In order for this change to have a useful lifespan, please do not mention the Dropbox e-mail address as plain text in any messages that you post here or elsewhere. Instead direct potential users to

for instructions.
