Dryer or Frontloading Washer as Makeshift Tumbler/Parts Washer?

Awl--

Inyone done it? Good/bad idear? I would imagine the drum would have to be plastic coated, like w/ RhinoLiner or sumpn. There is a place that recoats the buckets of vibratory tumblers w/ a durable tough coating, but it ain't cheap. How does a rotary tumbler compare to a vibratory tumbler? F'sure it's gotta be *quieter*!

Make a ball mill:

Now you can mill powders as well as polish and deburr.

You could use your lathe for this, if you don't mind the wear and tear.

Just another idear for you...

On my roll-in bandsaw, I bought a peristaltic pump off eBay. Hooked it up to a little squirt tip right above the sawing point. I set the speed on the pump to just keep the blade wet. this works very well and I didn't have to build a whole recirc system.

That is actually a very good idea, something I had sort of pondered for my lathe--just enough coolant to keep some smoke in the air, but not enough to splash all over the place. I would have still used a submersible or sumpn cheap/available, but valve off a small tip.
