A single-burner 220-volt 2600-watt shop stove

Perhaps I should note that this post is not an offer for sale or spam. It's a (shudder) metalworking project.

Could be useful for branding a spiral in the bum of the politican or partisan zeolot of your choice. It'd only stink of burnt flesh for a few minutes. Momentarily pungent to be sure, but less lingering than the persistant stink of political excrement of any color.

As always, another work of art. I can see you're one of those fellas that doesn't have much time to just sit around in your retirement.

I hope Julie (my SO) doesn't see this one. Every spring, I melt a deep pan of paraffin wax on her stove and dip a few hundred scions of budwood for apple grafting. Even with aluminum foil everywhere, I manage to spill paraffin wax on something.

So what do you cook on it? BTW, nice job!

Nice. Now I know what I do with the hotplates I got recently (and I didn't want them).

But I'll add PE to the electrical installation. ;-)

My primary use is heating liquids. Electroless nickel plating soup runs at 195F and anodize films are sealed in boiling water.

Probably a good idea, even though the fiberglass insulation on "appliance wire" is rather tough stuff. I suppose I'd better make a delrin bushing today.

Yup, and she's good at it. Perhaps not world-class like Iggy and Gunner, but she does OK. Her best find so far was a 1958 Singer Featherweight sewing machine in 10-out-of-10 mint condition, at a garage sale for $10. The original sales receipt was still in the case. Quilters love those machines and she is a quilter.

Wives and mothers can be great at tool and equipment scrounging, especially when given a bit of training on what to look for.

I can't count the times she'd walk in with a find like a complete Ridgid #00 threading set (have two now), or a Ridgid #2-A pipe cutter, wink, and say "It was a buck - did I pay too much?"

The "little" ones were only 1100 or 1300, but most full-on electric ranges have at least one larger element (usually at the rear) for fry-pans or getting a big pasta pot up to boil.

Her Featherweights are black. Featherweights aren't too hard to find, but we'd never seen one as cherry as this one is.

Good catch, Nick. Check the website again, hit refresh. I added a delryn bushing to protect the wires from abrasion. Also added a ground though nobody busted me for no visible green wire.
