Well ... it is better today than it has been since the day you posted this. About 10:30 PM on the 29th, we got hit by a rather nasty weather system which appears to have rapidly run across about half the width of the continent. We finally got power back at 4:50 PM on the 2nd (yesterday from this posting time).

If you're willing to run something other than Windows, I can suggest some good newsreaders with excellent filtering (I typically see somewhere between 10% and 33% of the articles posted in a 24 hour period.)
