First rough update of my home hobby shop page

Speeds and feeds were actually ok. I do tend to push the envelope a bit, but I have all my machines full of good old high sulphur cutting oil so it does tend to get a bit smokey

I just gave away the last litter. I will unfortunately likely to be having another one before long. Need one? When they are ready..come on out and Ill give you a couple.

Its just a dirt floored carport along side my home, with a roof over it. 14x54'

Average rain fall here is 4" (four inches), so its not a major consideration.

Dust is the biggest problem, so everything gets wiped down and covered up with bed sheets when Im done using them.

You are absolutely right. Im just so used to working in shops (most) that don't have guards over the wheels, that I seldom think about it.

Chuckle..I have 6 dogs, and we are all owned by about 20 feral and domestic cats. I have a feral cat with a litter of 4 kittens behind my 6x48 belt sander at the moment. Makes it hard to work with her hissing at me all the time.

You don't know my cats very well. Both greet me at the door when I get home. Just like my dog did. Both follow me around the house until I sit. Just like my dog did. Then they both jump in my lap and purr and push against me. Now that is different in that the dog jumped up and licked and wiggled around submissively. And they both come when I call them, just like my dog did. No, I don't have food with me when they do it, nor do I work in a fish market. The cat's attitude like a dog's is simply set on the way you raise them. ....(Just tired of the bad press the cat seems to get. They are different than dogs, but just as friendly in a cat way. At least they don't get so excited that they pee on the floor when you pet them.)

Well, now you've got a new project; *real* steel-toed boots. Figure 1/2" plate, bent to fit over the toes and come about halfway up the arch. If nothing else, you'll have the most toned legs in the neighborhood.

Sounds like Friday nights when I get home from 4-5 days on the road.

I have a regular pecking order of "make nice" rituals that I have to go though when greeted by the various dogs and cats. Sadie (the one in the picture) brings me a tennis ball, her mom, Mandy brings me a stuffed animal, Dakota (big golden retriever) waits until I greet the other two, Odd Ball the cat (has different colored nuts) wants to ride my shoulder. Hip Hop (the one on the back of my chair) waits until I sit down, then does the nuzzle/make bread on my leg thingy.... there is a long list of protocol I have to follow Woe is me if I have to go pee..they all get their feelings hurt if I dont follow the rituals.

Sadie..gets yancy during the week, so when I call home at least once they have to put me on the speaker phone so I can talk to her..then she is fine for the next couple days.

My 16 year old tiger even does the"shake a paw" and "beg" routine. The

Screw Momma Cat and her attitude problems - get back there and get those kittens used to people, preferably before their eyes are open or not too long afterwards. That way you can find them new homes easier.

Then it sounds like Feral Momma Cat needs a trip to the vet for a quick spaying - there's another good use for Welding Gloves, leather-sleeve capes, face shields and leather chaps that's not in the manual... (Suit up, grab cat, stuff in carrier. The vet has the "Kickapoo Joy Juice" to make his part of the job easier.)

I could use a kitten, but it needs to be old enough to check temperament first. My side yard isn't as machinery intensive as yours, but I still don't want a cat that needs it's own custom auto-dark welding hood and leather apron, and a daily bath in fire retardant... "I'm Helping!"

A cat intent on doing the Happy Leg Bump Dance is bad when the person involved is carrying heavy and awkward things. (I'd have a set of toes that look like yours before I'd squish a cat.)

And (s)he has to know to come home and stay inside after dark (no escape attempts) to avoid being on the local Coyote Dinner Menu. Middle of Los Angeles, but we have a small pack on the hill a block away...

We'll be watching.
