Tips for navigating this monster site: First thing, goto one of these sites, get a TIFF Patent Viewer:

1/4MB vs 2MB, take your pick. I got AlternaTIFF.
Now goto

and click on "search", which takes you to

, so click on "Patent number search" and make sure NOT to use the US prefix on the number. This takes you to
where you see (Arrrrrrgh!) "Full text is not available for this patent. Click on "Images" button above to view full patent." Luckily, you now have AlternaTIFF installed. Click on the picture to go full-scale (larger than screen) and mosey around. Use the gold buttons on the left to navigate to the next pages.
Voilà!
I originally tried this with the Quicktime plugin which was already on the machine, but it absolutely, um, sucked the big one, as it were. (big red apple one)
