Looking for a threaded spacer

Oct 16, 2006 8 Replies

I am looking for a female threaded spacer. Thread 6-32 or 6-36. Outer diameter less than 1/4" It is basically a tube with inner threading.

I can find them anywhere. McMaster also doesn't have them. If you know any supplier that has them please let me know.

Thanks

Sounds like a threaded standoff will work:

Common as dirt in the electronics industry.

mscdirect.com sells these as " threaded stand offs". They're made by unicorp.

less than

McMaster has them in 1/4" OD, on the chance that your less than 1/4" spec is inclusive. See page 3083.

If you don't want to wait for a specific stand-off, you might be able to use and or modify a Riv-Nut which you should be able to find at a good hardware store in small quantities. 6-32 yes, 6-36 probably not.

They're so easy to make, it seems a shame to mail-order them unless you need a LOT of 'em.

Standoffs with an M3 internal thread are very easy to find here in the UK, that's about the size you are after.
