OT: Deep Fried Turkey Hazard (let's ban sharp knives!)

i just now see some footage about the _terrible_ hazard associated with deep fried turkey: total _LACK_ of any sense whatever(!). wow, that's just as dangerous as a sharp knife.

cooking 001, don't spill hot oil onto open flame, inside or outside, unless you _want_ to start a fire. geezuzz louise..... --Loren

ps. oh, i forgot, don't let small children and animals run free around a larger container of boiling oil...., on a pedestal....above and open flame(!).

Oh YEAH! A 2nd cousin of mine pulled a slow cooker of beans over on herself when she was 2. Fortunately, her dad, an MD, was in the house, and shouted to his wife to turn on the cold water in the bathtub, he rushed her into the tub while knocking the remaining hot beans off her, and then tore her clothes off to get the cold water on her skin fast. She still needed some small skin grafts in a few spots, but I saw her a few months ago, and there's absolutely nothing you can see except right at her hair line. If her dad hadn't been so fast in first aid, it would have been a LOT worse, possibly even fatal.

Whew, scary!
