"Kutya'i is a push-pull amplifier that is currently at the concept stage. It will utilise 10 5J/180E tubes in push-pull, biased at the very limit of conduction in order to maximise efficiency. By using much more powerful, 3-phase air-blast units, we hope to increase their maximum anode dissipation to 7kW each. In conjunction with the biasing outlined above, and by over-running them at an HT of between 9kv and 12kv, we expect to obtain nearly 50kW per pair, or a quarter of a megawatt overall."

Hehe, Nick Sheldon used to haunt rec.audio.tubes. Some uh, interesting projects have passed, let's say. :)

Ever heard Pink Floyd play live? Definitely a gut-rumbling experience. Martin.

The Dark Side of the Moon? It was our standard torture test for audio gear. The hart beat passage would male the needle misstrack with little help from acoustic feedback.
