7" X 4" X 9' 6" RSJ for Charles Ping

Picked it up this morning, it is now at the new factory awaiting collection at your convenience.

John certainly gives good measure, I asked for 'about 8ft' and this one is 9' 6" long.

Thanks Peter

Will be in touch

It can be fun driving along the M5 and M6 with the transit van rear doors wide open because the people that sold the 12' gantry crane measured it at 8'! 'twasn't so much fun cutting 4' off it, once I got it home.

What you need is a nice big plasma cutter. Don't often use it but it's magic for that sort of thing, and unlike oxy-acetylene it can quickly just be turned on and off without dragging the big bottles out of storage.

The RSJ fits in the van diagonally with an inch to spare. I think the floor length is 9ft in our van (LWB Trafic)

Won't fit in a Volvo estate quite as easily. However with 2'6" chopped off (with a 9" angle grinder rather than a plama cutter) it should fit in!

Charles

Caswell Engineering (landlords) have a large donkey saw that will handle it OK, I'll ask the question this week prior to you coming over.
