All our machines have the plastic Snap Lock type coolant pipe. Its a pain as when you put parts in the chuck its easy to knock it off the work. Also its a nuisance to make fine adjustments especially when running slow flow, coolant seems to walk around the nozzle moving off the work.
I found an old brass coolant pipe - came of an old Ward I think. Has two 90 degree elbows, and the spout is telescopic bent about 30 degrees at the end, can be adjusted to any angle, and is solid enough not to move if knocked.
Are these still made? I doubt it. Tried small bore pipe, 90 degree elbows and olives, if you loosen the joints the olives leak. On the old coolant pipe the brass elbows can be loosened to the tightness you need to move and they don't leak Cannot get them apart, undo the nuts but they won't come apart, must be some burs inside with over-tightening through the years. Have a feeling there is a felt washer inside?
Anyone know how they work?
