Does anyone know of a supplier/repairer (I'm a Scot so has to be economic!) of a motor for an Emco Unimat 3 mini lathe?

The original motors are fiendishly difficult to work on - like a ship in a bottle. And, the duty cycle is abysmal, only 8 minutes continuous running permitted, according to nameplate. The Asian version Unimat4 has a continuous rated motor, more power and no-volt safety switching. Not sure, but should be a straight fit?
