ode to Airy R. (has) Bean

A 'Radio Ham' called Bean invented a fettling machine. On the 99th stroke the bleedin' thing broke and fettled his castings to cream.

To be accurate, you should have written 'first stroke', but then that doesn't rhyme ;-)

Or 'very first stroke' , then it scans :-)

Jim.

On the newsgroup the Chippenham Rake, Did tire of troll baiting and ached, He made a co-linear of Sausage and Vinegar, Which came out the oven half-baked !

I'd be concerned about a response in kind from the "Bean" in question.

I mean . . . think of a word that rhymes with "Frank"!:-)

While I am sure you guys are enjoying youselves, you are acting just the same as the guy you are criticising.

You are completely off-topic for the newsgroup and just asking for another flame war.

If you want to hold a private critique of someone, please do it off-list.

Thanks,

Peter

Thanks, Jim! I was confusing 'rhyme' and 'scan' - put it down to a senior moment :-)

Without having seen the rest of this thread, although I can guess that it was rather silly and childish if only from the headers of those who contributed, do you not think that your attitude displayed below is somewhat hypocritical considering the infantile venting of your spleen that you have directed at me on numerous occasions?

"Do as I say and not as I do"?
