OT:Vee belts

OT but where else I wonder!:-

Does anyone know a good source of A section V belts for my latest project which was the resurrection of a 1985 WheelHorse garden tractor/mower. This uses 3 belts, one to drive the tractor, one from PTO to mower , & one to link the three cutting heads together on the mower. The PTO belt is simple - its only 40" so I got it from a motor factors. The mower belt is

79-80" long & cost £24 from Fenner transmissions!! Now unfortunately I've just bust the main drive belt (can't complain I WAS cutting up a steep hil & I am 19 stone!) which is 88" long . Nearest belt I had was just too long so looks another £25 worth. However I noticed on an Ameican motor factor's website, an A88" belt was only $12.47, so they must surely be available somewhere in UK at sensible prices? Any ideas? Or does anyone have an A88" (2220mm) belt lying about they'd sell for sensible money?

2170 and 2245 are stocked by RS for about a fiver each plus VAT. If you have trouble ordering from them, contact me off list

Those prices seem pretty reasonable. As for the US belt, is it anti-static/oil & heat resistant? You can get standard belts alot cheaper, but if they last a few hours on a lawnmower they've done well.

Many thanks Bob, that's just the ticket - Fenner Transmissions will get an earful tomorrow, because the 2020 belt from RS is only a fiver too!

Steve thanks,

Blimey, I tried Carmarthen Farmers, ACT, Gethin Beynon & a couple of others today & all reported no Vee belts, so I gave up & just ordered two from RS!! I have just found James number in the Yellow pages, so thanks for the tip ( I work with a chap from Crymych ) I'll remember next time
