Instance Specific Parameters

Ok. So I just noticed in my sheetmetal part that if I change a Parameter (specifically revision) that it automatically updates the other instances (flatpattern). that's great, just what I want it to do.

What if I didn't?

Do I have to put a family table column in to modify the parameter's that need to change for each instance, or is there another way?

Thank you, Tyler

Thank you, Tyler Everything in an instance is "inherited" from the generic, except what is variable/varied with a table entry. And every one of those could be an asterisk and simply repeat the default, generic value. But, it is the only thing that offers any means of varying an instance from the generic or any other instance. And, yes, that applies to parameters, as well. And espcecially since Parameter is offered in the Add Item list and selecting this allows you to add any User Defined parameter in your model. I think you're SOL on an easier way and I think you ought to be very cautious in wishing for one: PTC is more apt to make it more difficult, more complicated and more error prone by attempting to make it easier.
