I placed an order with this company over a month ago. Took 3 weeks after inquiring myself, to find out kits were back ordered. after the 4th week, said it was in the mail but has not arrived. Said he would put a tracer on it, but won't return my Emails. He was quick on charging my credit card though, got that done in 1 day. Has anyone out there ordered from them? any complications?

DHC has established quite a bad reputation when it comes to rocketeers. Additional documented problems can be located in the auction forum on ROL and the vendor forum on TRF. I was unaware of their reputation until I paid for a Binder Design Sentinel 54 in August and never got it so I checked into them.

Federal Trade Commission rules concerning mail order clearly state that a credit card cannot be charged until an item ships. FTC does not allow a mail order company to immediately charge a credit card and ship weeks or months later. Unfortunately DHC commonly violates this mail order requirement. To view the complete rule just do a search on the TRF forum using Federal Trade Commission, a rocketeer posted the entire document.

I ordered from them once. They had a really good price on something, so I ordered a dozen. Took a while to get, then was charged list instead of the discount. Eventually got a refund, but haven't re-ordered.

Oops! HPR is screwed again!

Sounds awfully familiar... Unfortunately, their web site isn't tied directly into their inventory (I asked) so their prices & availability aren't current. Like you, they charged my credit card long before they shipped. Also, after I called them to find out what was up, I was told that they held onto my shipment while they waited for certain items to come in. They finally shipped when I chose to substitute what I ordered for items they had in stock. From the time of my phone call to the time I got my shipment (two days ago), three weeks had passed. I placed the original order in September. In all fairness, the substituted items I chose worked out to a little more than what I was charged and everything did arrive. Since their web site is hopelessly out of date as far as availability & pricing is concerned, I would recommend to people wanting to place an order to call them rather than using their web site.
