Nadine, where art tho?

Anybody know what's happening with Nadine's rocketry photography?

She was at LDRS (we ordered some pictures), but her domain seems to have expired, and

redirects to a domain squatter.

If anybody knows her, they may want to ping her and let her know.

I ordered a few pictures at ROCStock, as well; I'm wondering when she'll get the orders out. I know she's always been a bit tardy in the past, however, so I'm not too worried....

According to Rick Dickinson :

Her domain either expired shortly before, or during LDRS. We ordered pictures and got a calender. They said they'd email us the bill, which we could pay via paypal. With the domain expired, she can't email, we can't email her, can't paypal her etc...

As far as I'm aware, renewing the domain (if she does it quickly) will only cost her the ordinary domain renewal fee - which is less than what we owe her for our pictures. If she waits too long, it turns into a situation where a domain squatter can blackmail for however much they want.

I just hope she realizes that this has happened and is dealing with it.

I have spoken with Nadine and she wanted to pass along that in the midst of changing servers and ISPs that there was a little problem, well a fairly large problem. She is aware of it and is in the midst of getting everything back as it was. It's gonna take a little time so she asked for patience. She will be back up and running after reregistration and a site rebuild.

Perfect, thanks Chuck. If you speak to her again, tell her we're eager to pay! ;-)

I will be talking to her soon and will let her know that hordes of people with greenbacks have been pounding on the front door. :-) It appears her original ISP shut down, just plain went out of business and before her new ISP could transfer her site the guy turned out the lights while she was at LDRS. So it appears she must rebuild from almost scratch. She said not to worry, she has some work ahead of her. But she will fill the orders as soon as things return to normal. I do not envy the work ahead of her.

Tell her that there are people (with, or who are ;-) loonies pounding on it too.

Tell her that she needs to get the domain name renewed ASAP, don't wait for the web site reconstruction.

Mind you, given the registration doesn't seem to have been in her name, but rather in her (old) ISP's, they may either be unreachable, or will try to extort much more money than they should.

And here we have the reason why you should NEVER EVER have the only copy of your website on someone else's server.

One would guess this lesson would have been learned by the rocketry community when the Blast Zone server took a dump, but apparently not...
