NARAM R&D Cash Prizes for B division

Just in case anyone here is not aware:



NARAM R&D Prizes Cash prizes will be offered for the B Division R&D event at NARAM 46 to be held at The Plains, Virginia, July 31-August 6, 2003.



The first place prize is $1000. Second place is $600, third is $400, and fourth is $200. As many as ten $100 honorable mention prizes may be awarded to qualifying entries that the judges deem to be of excellent quality.



The NAR Research and Development Competition is an opportunity for members to present research or new developments in model rocketry. These include scientific studies of model rockets, innovations in model rocketry, and research using model rocketry as a tool. The cash prizes are offered to B division competitors only--NAR members who were 14-18 years old at the beginning of the contest year, July1, 2003. Members must attend NARAM to present their reports. Information on Junior and Leader NAR membership is available at

NARAM participants are eligible to compete in all NARAM events including R&D.



Robert Alway has donated funds to the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) topay for cash prizes for B Division competitors who excel in Research and Development at the next three NARAMs where R&D is a sanctioned event.



Robert Alway is a long-time model rocketeer, NAR member and former NAR trustee. The prizes are funded in memory of his parents, Clayton D. and Ida M. Alway.
