(OT)-common sense-One woman's take on this so-called 'holy war'

I believe Thomas Paine would crack a smile looking at this.

I don't believe any of our politicians could have said it better. I wonder if she's now in hiding because of some ancient, backward curse.

MOST impressive. She summed up my own thoughts better than I could. I'm embarassed to admit I couldn't have believed that level of rationality coming out of the middle east.

I thought the answer the Muslim debating her gave was telling. In essence, he said " If you are Muslim then you are obliged to accept what I tell you without question, and if you aren't Muslim, then you are beneath contempt and I am not obliged to give you a rational explanation."

Fantastic! No rational person can argue with any of her points.

I found that all very telling and expresed in an excellent manner. I give her a standing ovation!

And I hope she's in a safe place.

Ahem... the 'radical' muslims are NOT rational people! And that's the problem with the Left in this country... they think they are rational and that we should negotiate with them.

Everyone in the west are liberals to them, you choose not to live in medieval times, you use science, you are a liberal. They are the way right, the most conservative of all religious people with a religion born of violence. So it'a battle of the conservative ignorant and the liberal learned.

The west has occupied, or attempted to occupy, them for hundreds of years. Meanwhile they continue their battle to convert you to their medieval ways. Most everyone in this world wants to just live a decent life, but the ultra conservative, the fundamentalist sect of any religion chooses to use violence to force you to listen and acknowledge them. Bin Laden, Koresh, Jeffs, Khomehni, Rudolph, Zharkawi.......

You can drop bombs and try to destroy them all, they will return, they will be more bitter than ever. And another stronger generation will fight you.

Everyone has something they feel is worth bartering for and against. If you're smart enough you'll find it and use it to advantage. Don't even look and stare at each other's muzzle.

This would be an absolute non issue if oil weren't involved. But alas, we are very thirsty. We have no problem with Mugave, alas he has no oil ;-).

Another difference between this country and "overthere". I don't see the Vatican calling for the death of the Producer/Director/Actors/Author of the Da Vinci Code. They most definitely disagree but sure aren't threatening anyone.
