A-12 nose question

I plan on doing the A-12 Blackbird conversion that is in the December issue of FSM. I have a question that you guys might be able to answer. The nose of the A-12 generally appears to be not as curvy as the SR-71, however, the A-12 (06925) on the Intrepid has the same curvature as on a SR-71, not an A-12. I can't find any reference that states that they changed the noses on the A-12 like they did on the SR-71. 06931 and 06926 have the straighter noses. Any one have a good answer for this nose anomaly?

I photographed the A-12 on the Intrepid (Dec a few years ago and about +15F wind chill on the deck) and it had the A-12 shaped nose, not an SR-71 type.

The 71 nose and forward fuselage is deeper and has a totally different shape, therefore the nose would not fit on an A-12 fuselage.

I wish someone would do an A-12 nose for the 1/48 Blackbird kits. (Mike West, are you listening?) I'm just too lazy to carve my own.
