I saw it when it first came out in the mid '80s. The shot of the Spitfire, it is either a V or a IX, is beautiful in the flypast. Lovely video!

I'd say it would be the Shuttleworth Collection as the oldest stuff the RAF has got are the BBMF and they fly their aircraft as military aircraft, not on load to the public! No stunts=much less crashes! ;-)

A couple of other collections and an airworthy HP42 on the way!

It really was an eye-opener going there! People flew in, in civilian aircraft to watch the show then flew out again. One of the collection ladies started chatting to me as I had my own 3D camera setup - she was into it too and on top of that I bought from the Imperial Airways guy, a few DVDs for only a few pounds each that he got from some old boy, some compilations from the RAF safety board (how not to chop a pilot out of a crashed aircraft with an axe and how to read Gee if going to mainland Europe in a bomber) and some private Super 8mm film of an airshow when all you needed was a field, a tartan blanket, wicker basket with food and drink while you and the children looked up at early jets dropping down towards you, the (?)flight line being in some or any direction across the circle of parked cars and there was no health and safety board.

Pass those padded baby pads, the pre-safety era Red Arrows are on next! ;-)

can you post any of those in the video groups?

It's all very British but the old boy's DVD production operation is just like the Filofax(+) and done piecemeal so I'd prefer anyone helped a single person out bought them for just a few dollars.

I'll email the Imperial guys and ask if they can get some more.

Richard.

(+) The Filofax was made in a spare unit under the arches of a railway bridge by an old couple and they'd been made by hand for years, then in the 'Yuppie' era some young guy saw how great the Filofax was for keeping all bits of information and helped turn it into big business and a world-wide product.

Funnily enough I found the little glossy folder from their stall and emailed the son this morning.

Their Websites leave a lot to be desired though, but anyway;
