? for Italeri Panzer IV 1/72

I'm nearing the final stages of building this model, and I've been very pleased with both the kit quality and my efforts so far. However, I have a question maybe one of you folks can help me with. The kit includes a nice decal sheet with many numbers in black, red, red/white, ect. Also some various small markings in white and black. These numbers and markings are not shown anywhere on the illustrations, nor mentioned in the instructions for placement. I'm building mine painted in German Panzer Grey for use in a town scene. The only markings shown are the "plus" symbols on the turret, and one on the rear. Where would these number markings be placed on this tank, or are they even meant to be used? It seems a shame to waste them, even though I'll keep them in my parts box. In case it matters to answer my question, I am using the side armor on both body and turret. Thanks for any help as always.

The sheet may be a generic one for German armour. Hang on to whatever you don't use, it will come in useful some day. The Numbers were generally applied to the turret sides in groups of three, and indicated the vehicles place in the TOE - I can't recall the exact sequence, it's something like Company/Troop/Vehicle, but the first digit can be a letter - IIRC, R01 would be the Regimental Commanders vehicle. The smaller markings are possibly Divisional Emblems and organisational markings which go on the fenders or hull front and rear - but I can't recall which went on which side. Its about quarter of a century since I last did much in the way of German armour, and I've mislaid my notes. :(
