Speaking of SA-2s, I see Maquette has a 1/72 SA-2 kit too. Is this Airfix, Gran, new tool, or something else?

I just translated two out of four parts of a history of that puppy.

The main fire control radar or SNR as it was called was the FAN SONG series. Those were wired to a control van and a generator set, both mounted in box bodies on ZIL-157 chassis.

The complete battalion also had a P-12 (SPOON REST) target acquistion/search radar and a PRV-10 or 11 (ROCK CAKE/STONE CAKE or SIDE NET) height finder. The latter was critical as they had to have the right altitude in order to launch the missile at its most appropriate elevation.

Well, sort of. I used to have a shot on my desk 30+ years ago taken by an RF-101 of one of the battalions that was dug in on top of the dykes in the DRV. They had cables running to everything. BUT the hut that covered the generator vehicle was painted with Red Crosses on the roof.

Talk about "asking" for a war crime...

Come on Cookie, don't you know what an NVA hospital looks like. Those aren't missile launchers, those are stretcher carriers and all those cables are for the monitoring equipment. Things are so deceptive from the air.
