.....who happened to be Neville Barnes Wallis of "bouncing bomb" fame! Scene from the "Dambusters" movie comes to mind: Michael Redgrave as Barnes Wallis is visiting the Air Ministry, trying to drum up support for his bouncing bomb.The official he is dealing with is being obstructive, and says:"aircraft are in very short supply. You say you need a Wellington to test this scheme of yours. What could I possibly tell the minister to justify your request?" Wallis replies"Well, perhaps if you told them I designed it...." Cut to next shot: Wellington taking off, Wallis in copilot's seat!
